Capital Area Soccer League and TNT Dynamite Soccer Club Agree to Historic Partnership-in-Soccer

In a historic moment for Lansing-area soccer, the Capital Area Soccer League and the TNT Dynamite Soccer Club agreed to a partnership on Sunday night, with TNT becoming the official premier program of CASL.

TNT will provide CASL with coaching education and player training opportunities, and will seat a non-voting club liaison on the CASL Board of Directors; this liaison will provide reports on the club’s progress as well as offer suggestions on growing the community-based league.

“This is a positive step for both CASL and TNT,” said Oscar Castañeda, CASL President.  “I look forward to growing both programs in what will be a mutually beneficial relationship.”

CA United, CASL’s previous premier program, will be dissolved and its players, teams and coaches integrated into TNT, a move combining the area’s two biggest and most successful soccer clubs into a potential powerhouse in the state.  TNT recently placed its u16 boys in the State Cup finals, a match hosted in East Lansing which drew local fans in droves to support the team.  The u16 boys featured the top players in the area, boys who developed their skills in CASL, TNT and/or CA United.  Gathering the area’s top talent at younger age groups can yield future success for Lansing-area teams.

“Ten years ago when I left CA to form TNT, my vision was to provide the best soccer environment for Mid-Michigan players,” said Todd Derby, President/CEO of TNT Dynamite.  “During these years, our organizations have had their battles.  Despite this history, I’m ecstatic that we can work together to provide our children with this vision today.  Today we are truly united.”

Said Dan Jury, CA United Director of Coaching and Player Development, “This is a bittersweet moment because there are a lot of people who have poured themselves into our organization.  However, instead of looking into the past, we have to look into the future.  This organization, with our combined efforts and resources, will be something special.  I’m looking forward to joining TNT and growing the game of soccer in Lansing.”

TNT Dynamite and CA United directors and coaches will be meeting in the next 72 hours to finalize tryout details, coaching assignments and team plans.  Additional information will be emailed to TNT and CA families, and posted on their respective websites.  Tryouts are scheduled for June 15-17 at the Kenneth Hope Soccer Complex.

TNT Joins Top Detroit Clubs in Michigan State Developmental Soccer League

The TNT Dynamite Soccer Club is pleased to announce the launch of the Michigan State Developmental Soccer League (MSDSL), a new league its u9 through u12 teams will join this fall.  The league includes several of the more recognized clubs in the state -- Canton Celtic, Force FC (formerly Bloomfield Force), Livonia City Soccer Club, Novi Jaguars and Waza FC -- and will offer more competitive games for our teams and convenient scheduling for our families, all while improving the player-development environment for our players.  The club's u13 and older teams will continue to play in the Michigan State Premier Soccer League or the Midwest Regional League.

For more information on the Michigan State Developmental Soccer League, visit www.msdsl.com.

TNT U16 Boys Fall 2-1 to Vardar in State Cup Finals Nailbiter

The TNT Dynamite u16 boys lost 2-1 to top-seeded Vardar in the State Cup Finals on Saturday May 30 at the East Lansing Soccer Complex.  Two second-half goals by Vardar erased TNT's 1-0 half-time lead, and a late-game push by TNT produced several quality scoring chances that were denied by Vardar's stellar goalkeeping.

Congratulations to the u16 boys for a remarkable season - State Cup Finalists, Middletown Spring Blast tournament champions, and second place in the Midwest Regional League's East White First Division.

Thank you to all in the soccer community -- from current TNT players and families, to club alumni home from college, to soccer families and coaches outside of TNT -- who supported this team on Saturday.  We appreciate your attendance and passionate support.

TNT Welcomes Jeff Hosler to its Coaching Staff

The TNT Dynamite Soccer Club is pleased to announce the newest addition to its coaching staff: Jeff Hosler.  Jeff is the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Alma College, and currently coaches with CA United.  He has a USSF "C" License and a US Youth Soccer National Youth License.  Jeff officially joins us on June 15.  He will coach the u18 girls this fall and the u16 boys in the spring, and will coach the u14 boys year-round.  Welcome Jeff!

TNT U16 Boys Advance to State Cup Finals, Saturday May 30 at East Lansing Soccer Complex

Congratulations to the TNT Dynamite u16 boys.  The team defeated the Michigan Wolves in the State Cup semifinal on Sunday May 17 in Saginaw, after defeating Canton Celtic in the quarterfinal the previous day.  This is the first team in club history to advance to a State Cup final.

The boys will now face Vardar in the State Cup final on Saturday May 30 at the East Lansing Soccer Complex; kickoff is at 12:30 PM.

Please support this team in their historic match, conveniently held in our back yard - we hope all TNT families will be able to attend and cheer this team to victory.

We are asking all TNT supporters at this match to wear red - players can wear their training shirts, jackets or hoodies -- so we can make this a true home field advantage (like MSU playing the Final 4 at Ford Field).  Let's pack the stands with a sea of red as we cheer our boys on to victory!

TNT U12 Boys Undefeated at Jaguar Invitational

This is the fourth consecutive year the club has sent three teams to the Quarterfinals, a feat no Mid-Michigan area club has ever accomplished in the modern State Cup era.  TNT is the only local club represented in the Quarterfinals this spring.  Congratulations boys, and good luck!
