Notes From the Presidents Desk
Todd Derby, CEO and Founder of the TNT Dynamite Soccer Club, will give us his thoughts on the happenings in the soccer world.
August 26, 2011 -- Notes From the Presidents Desk - Big Happenings!
Big happenings in the Soccer World – almost every day. Its easy to be overwhelmed following world soccer and our local scene. Yesterday the Champions League Draw took place and it looks like Group A might be a very difficult group to come out healthy and strong! It will be interesting. Can Barcelona repeat?
TNT Tryouts – 12 years in a row! We have grown again! Something that no other club can claim-- No one else has been around as long as TNT - We are the largest and BEST Club in Lansing – See the www.TNTDifference.com website if you don’t believe me. This is a resource to compare in black and white…..
TNT has expanded into the Grand Rapids market – We have added Aaron Daane to run TNT West and they added 8 new teams on the west side. Mostly younger teams – it will take a couple of years to reap the fruits from the seeds sown today.
Big Tournament Weekend – Most of our girls teams headed to Brighton for the Powerade Invite and most of our Boys teams headed to the Grand Rapids Crew Cup – I want to wish them all success.
High School Boys Soccer – the preview came out this week. My picks for the 4 divisions: Okemos, Mason, DeWitt and LCC. I know I will take some heat for sharing my thoughts…maybe some will view it as motivation and not discouragement :)

August 23, 2011 -- Notes From the Presidents Desk - Welcome to the 2011/2012 Season!
The summer has sneaked by – Hopefully you were able to steal some of the summer for yourself and families. I know my family did..we hit Chicago and caught the Manchester United vs. Fire game and then trekked to St. Ignace and visited Mackinac Island and helped the tourism industry by purchasing overpriced candies, ice creams and other treats.
Since August 1 – Soccer has been in full swing for most of the Club. Most everybody participated in the Michigan Challenge Cup and most are playing in the Powerade Invite – Hosted by Brighton Soccer Club and the Grand Rapids Crew Cup – hosted by Grand Rapids Crew.
My goal this year is to blog about soccer happenings for our club, High School, ODP, National Program, etc… I have so many thoughts to share :) There seems I have missed many already since tryouts but I will try to get caught up with daily and or weekly blogging.
Future rants, thoughts and writings will address tryouts, Super Y, ODP Process, rumors/gossip in the soccer world (you wouldn’t believe half the stuff I hear LOL – I wont share it all just the entertaining and fun portions) Referees, high School, Michigan Challenge Cup, and our Season.
Yours in soccer,
Coach Derby
