July 18, 2011 -- Four TNT Players Selected for Region II ODP Pool

Over the past three weeks eight TNT players have participated in Region II ODP Camp. These camps have brought together the best players from the 14 state associations in Region II. The goal of each camp is to identify the top 40-50 players in the entire region. Regional camp usually lasts about five days with multiple training sessions or games each day. The Boys Region II ODP camp was held in Overland Park, Kansas with the Girls Region II ODP camp in Dekalb, Illinois.
Brandon DeSmyter - TNT '97 Boys:
Selected to the 1997 Boys Region II ODP Pool. Brandon will have the opportunity to be selected to the Region II Team for future events.
Zoe Morse - TNT '97 Girls Red:
Selected to the 1997 Girls Region II ODP Pool. Zoe will have the opportunity to be selected to the Region II Team for future events. Zoe was one of a select few players who were asked to play up a year at regional camp. Zoe is actually a 1998 birth year.
Tara Lierman - TNT '97 Girls Red:
Selected to the 1996 Girls Region II ODP Pool. Tara will have the opportunity to be selected to the Region II Team for future events. Tara's 96 Michigan ODP team won the ODP Region II tournament at camp. Tara will move onto the National ODP Championship to be held later this year.
Olivia Sherman - TNT '97 Girls Red:
Selected to the 1996 Girls Region II ODP Pool. Olivia will have the opportunity to be selected to the Region II Team for future events. Olivia's 96 Michigan ODP team won the ODP Region II tournament at camp. Olivia will move onto the National ODP Championship to be held later this year. Last year (2010) Olivia was selected to the 1996 Regional Team. She travelled with the regional team to events in Florida and Costa Rica. Olivia was also invited to the U14 National ID Camp last August (2010) in Oregon.
Hannah Darmofal - TNT '97 Girls Red:
Hannah participated in the 1997 girls regional camp as a member of the Michigan state ODP team.
Meg Darmofal - TNT '97 Girls Red:
Meg participated in the 1997 girls regional camp as a member of the Michigan state ODP team.
McKenzie Lowery - TNT '97 Girls Red:
McKenzie participated in the 1997 girls regional camp as a member of the Michigan state ODP team.
Abby Schmidt - TNT '97 Girls Red:
Abby participated in the 1997 girls regional camp as a member of the Michigan state ODP team.
Zach Kovan - TNT '97 Boys:
Zach is a member of the 1997 boys Michigan state ODP team. Unfortunately Zach was hurt prior to camp and could not attend.
Region II consists of 14 state associations in the greater Midwest (Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio North, Ohio South, South Dakota, Wisconsin). All State ODP Team players from each state attend camp for their specific birth year camp. Usually there are around 300-400 players per camp with the top 36-40 players selected to the regional pool. The final regional team is selected from this pool.
