November 28, 2010 -- TNT Coaches and Players Find Success at the 2010 Super Y League National Finals!

Current TNT U14 Girls Red player Tara Lierman (pictured above, first row second from right) attended the 2010 North American Super Y League National Championships this November with her summer Super Y League team Chicago Fire Juniors – Michigan.  The team is coached by current TNT staff member Danny Price (pictured above, first row center).  The team travelled to Tampa Bay, Florida for the tournament from November 18-23rd. The team earned a spot in the Championship as they qualified as Midwest champions posting a 6-3-1 record from league play.

The tournament was a huge success for the team, and for Tara personally, as they reached the National Final game on Tuesday November 23rd. The team had a challenge in the final as they played against last year’s National Champion, the Northern Virginia Majestic’s. Coach Price was pleased with how his team performed through out the tournament and complimented Tara specifically. “Tara was superb throughout the summer and the majority of her performances in Tampa were also very good.  She changed the game when we moved her into the midfield during our 2nd group game which we eventually won 4-1. The club and myself are very proud of her achievements especially since she was playing a year up with this team."

Unfortunately the team was beaten on penalty kicks 5-4 in the final.  “I’m very proud that Tara stepped up to take one of the penalties in the final.  There was enormous pressure on the players and for someone so young she handled the responsibility very well tucking away her penalty in the bottom corner”

There were three other TNT members that participated in the Finals over the long weekend. Josh Robison, a TNT U16 Boys Red team member, played with the Alliance Academy's U15 Boys. Josh's team had a good run in the tournament but eventually lost in the semi-finals. Esteban Russell and John Reglin, both members of the TNT U18 Boys team, also played with the Alliance Academy while playing for their U17 team down in Tampa. Their team also had a good run in the tournament but unfortunately lost in the semi-finals.

Congratualtions to all! Keep up the good work.
